Halloween Candy Favor Bags

We usually have a lot of trick or treaters in my neighborhood. This year I decided to do little bags with candy since sometimes it's get overwhelming when lots of kids show up at once and see my HUGE bowl of candy! Since this was most last minute, my bags were not fun, just clear treat bags with a tie. If I had planned ahead here are some cute ideas! There are lots of even cuter ideas if your candy is not wrapped but for practicality, these all work with wrapped candy!

If I had planned ahead I could have made some cute and cheap"business cards" from Vista Print to hang on my bags.

I absolutely love this Halloween hand candy bag! I would be afraid some parent would be like, "Why is she giving my child a surgical glove?".

Crepe Paper pumpkins filled with candy Martha Stewart

These are cute with the labels up top and the eye ball candy.

Cute kisses bags from Secret Life of Paper

Here is a free printable that is low ink and fits over a sandwich ziplock baggie

Reese's with funky eye stickers for "Monster Eyeballs" from Fickle Pickle

A pumpkin with drilled holes to hold lollipops. You can also buy one of the plastic pumpkins from the craft store and drill the holes so you can reuse next year!

Paper bag cut with "fringe" and folded with black ribbon

Cute free printables with fun ribbon makes these bags welcoming!

Is this the mega favor bag-pretty ribbon, metal pendents. I think the moms would like this more than the kids from Janet Hopkins.

Treats for the parents! A pumpkin beer cooler! I guess you could coke in the bottle, Izzy drinks or the crazy Jones sodas.

Here are my non-fun bags, but they are in a fun Halloween bowl!

Pumpkin Art from Maine Fall Festival

When we were in Maine we went to a small town called Damariscotta that had a fall festival going on. After every few feet was another 200-700 lb pumpkin being decorated. Here were some of my fave's! Do you carve or decorate your pumpkins?

Cooped Up

Has anyone checked out the 86th Annual Neiman Marcus Christmas book catalog. Some of the "Fantasy Gifts" this year included a walk on role for Annie for $30,000, a water propelled jet pack for $99,000, a mega luxurious tailgate trailer for $150,000. The one thing that caught my eye, was the posh poultry pied-à-terre for a "mere" $100,000. This custom-made multilevel dwelling from Heritage Hen Farms is a luxurious Versailles inspired hen house that features a nesting area, a "living room" for nighttime roosting, a library filled with chicken and garden books for visitors, a chandelier and 10 hand picked chickens to take residence. Nearby, you pick fresh vegetables or herbs from custom built raised gardens. Are you thinking fresh omelettes every morning?

While Martha Stewart made chicken coops popular in the 90's, I feel these have been more popular recently, the NY Times even did an article on Home Coops in April 2012. Williams-Sonoma even carries 6 different models now! Can these be added to a wedding registry?

Here are some more luxurious chicken coops:

Target & Neiman Marcus Holiday Collaboration

I love Target collaborations, so I was excited when I heard there was going to be a Neiman Marcus and Target collaboration for the Christmas season. Today, we got a small glimpse of some of the items being offered from designers such as Oscar de la Renta, Prabal Gurung, Marchesa, Tory Burch, Judith Lieber and more. Here are some of my favorites and I can't wait to see what else comes out! Mark your calendars, for December 1st. Do you think this will be more popular than the Missoni collaboration?

My Fall Maine Trip

We are back from Maine and we had a blast! The weather was cold enough, but not too cold and the coastal views and fall foliage were beautiful! Of course we ate lobster at almost every meal, went to a Fall Festival, did lots of fun driving through small coastal towns and visited 3 lighthouses, and of course had a blast at our friends wedding! Here are a few pictures of our trip! We took our little dog, Charley which was his first time flying! Maine is a very dog friendly state so he was welcomed with warm arms everywhere we went! Have you been to Maine? What was your favorite thing?

Beautiful place we stayed and rented a cottage at Spruce Point Inn at Boothbay Harbor. The wedding ceremony and rehearsal dinner were here as well.

This was our last stop before heading to the airport.

Beautiful Pemaquid Point Lighthouse with granite rocks that you could climb on

Definitely had to make a stop at Red's for a Lobster roll and clams. It was worth the wait!
