Neutral Houston Home

I came across this beautiful, crisp and clean home of Houston designer, Pamela Pierce of Pierce Design & Associates. Her house evokes the clean look of french house, minimal color and lots of texture through light woods in the flooring and furniture and bringing in natural elements through plants, flowers, antlers, etc! How do you feel about the "all white" look?

Year of the Snake

Today is Chinese New Year's and the Year of the Snake!

The snake has traditionally been seen as a symbol of wisdom, wealth and longevity, but is considered less auspicious than other animals in the 12-year Chinese Zodiac such as the dragon. It is said to bestow mystery, intelligence and beauty on those born in a snake year.

Here are some serpent and snakeskin inspirations for your house!

TV Over Mantel

Based on last year's number 111.3 million people watched the Super Bowl last year! That is a lot of eyes looking at a television so I wanted to feature a post featuring televisions.

In the world of decorating, some say a television over the mantel is a no-no. Others, would rather enjoy practicality and put a TV there. We have a TV above our mantel and I wouldn't have it any other way. Last year I did a post on ways to hide your TV. This year, I am embracing the TV over the mantel! Here are some (hard to find) examples where the homeowner decided to have a TV and go against their designer's wishes!
